Update: Obama partially responsible for Pakistani emergency measures

August 9, 2007 at 5:02 am (Idiots, Leftist idiocy, News, Pakistan, The Left, The Right, The United States, US Government, World War III)

Tariq Azim, minister of state for information, said talk from the United States about the possibility of U.S. military action against al-Qaida in Pakistan “has started alarm bells ringing and has upset the Pakistani public.” He mentioned Democratic presidential hopeful Barak Obama by name as an example of someone who made such comments, saying his recent remarks were one reason the government was debating a state of emergency.

(From “Pakistan may declare state of emergency” by Matthew Pennington of AP.)

As if one needs any more reason to oppose Obama. His remark was most irresponsible. It has provoked outrage, and for good reason.

I have no problem with unilateral action against or in Pakistan if the target warrants such. But a public statement explicitly stating such is entirely unacceptable. Doing so harms the interests of The United States. Doing so was a stupid, stupid thing to do. If anyone is truly aware of the delicate situation in Pakistan, one would know how disastrous such a statement could be.

Obama’s statement has brought even more public opposition to Pakistan’s cooperation with America in World War III, cooperation that could only be sustained because Musharraf acts because of his monopoly of force and not democratic legitimacy.

And to think that Pakistanis are rabidly pro-Democrat and anti-Republican. The Republican Party has always been the best one for Pakistan and Pakistanis. I hope Pakistan realizes this, and I hope American Pakistanis realize this next year when they have to help us elect a new president.

Funny, isn’t it, the various ways Democrats undermine American national interests.

    Hypotheticaly,

Were I president, I would probably strike anywhere, no matter the treaties or aggreements established with a nations leadership. As the Attack were occuring, I would contact that leader and say “I hit in your territory, back me up, or you will look like an empty suit.”

Which is a GREAT method of foreign policy, and international bullying/diplomacy. Obama guarantee’d that no president now until forever can do such a thing in afghanistan thanks to his idiotic statements.

example, Bush allows airstrikes in the boundary’s of pakistan, even if Musharaff were signed on from day one, FROM NOW ON! thanks to obama, musharaff looks like a weak and broken leader. Obama MADE Musharaff even more the military dictator that he already is. One thing I gotta say for Musharaff, he’s not a “president” but he HAS worked to guide his nation into modernity. Unfortunately it was from the nuke down, but thats to be expected among a culture that is more archane and ancient than even the aborine of Australia.

Talk from the US began well before OBAMA said anything. William Kristol, much respected supporter of the BUSH REGIME and head of the ultra conservative media mogul announced in mid-July that the US should go into Pakistan and not tell Musharaf. This was on FOX news.

“I think the president’s going to have to take military action there over the next few weeks or months…. Bush has to disrupt that sanctuary. I think, frankly, we won’t even tell Musharraf. We’ll do what we have to do in Western Pakistan and Musharraf can say, ‘Hey, they didn’t tell me.'” William Kristol.

Someone reminded me today that Tom Tancredo had done at least as much damage as Barack Obama. He’s quite the loose cannon.
