Although from some Muslim perspectives, it is our wealth that has made us targets, precisely because so much of it is used to support the enemies of Islam (notably Israel).
Indeed. From their perspective, we’ve been so insolent to usurp the Muslims’ rightful place as rulers of the world. Such attitudes and beliefs do color their perception and judgment of world powers.
